Catherine Hirst was born in Pennsylvania where, as a little girl, she was taught by her grandmother how to crochet, knit, and embroider. She has been hand-making clothes, accessories, and gifts ever since. A degree in Art from the University of Pennsylvania has formed the foundational aesthetic for her original designs. She began teaching crafts professionally over ten years ago, first in the US and now in the UK where she lives. Catherine teaches individual and group craft classes and workshops.
