Biography
Danielle Chiel
Danielle Chiel has a PhD in musicology, and has spent most of her professional life focused on sound. She has noticed, however, that the skills used to teach others to appreciate sound are not dissimilar to the skills used to teach an appreciation of colour and texture. Danielle's love of colour and texture first emerged when her aunt taught her to knit at the age of ten. Her mother, noticing her passion, then gave her a knitting book, and Danielle began to knit coloured squares for each of the 25 stitches in the book. Later that year, Danielle was awarded her school's prize for needlework. Danielle's passion has never subsided and is at the heart of her creative work today.
