Mary Brown is currently a practicing artist and was a Visual Arts teacher in Catholic Senior Colleges, Sydney, Australia for many years, specialising in painting, printing and wearable art. In 2000-01, she did the Certificated Course at the Royal School of Needlework, England. On herreturn to Australia, she resigned from teaching to embark on her newembroidery career. Mary now specialises in Goldwork embroidery, runningworkshops in embroidery shops and for the Embroiderers' Guild. She has alsopublished projects for many embroidery magazines. In the near future, sheintends to focus on exhibition pieces in the field of Goldwork embroidery.
