Lagartera Embroidery and Stitches from Spain
The almost forgotten technique of Lagartera Embroidery, reintroduced by the Embroiderers Guild of South Australia. This style of embroidery originates from the Spanish village of the same name. Lagartera is traditionally worked on even-weave linen in satin stitch and double running stitch.
Both traditional designs and contemporary developments of these designs have been included, together with exquisite historical embroideries demonstrating the Lagartera technique. Those who have conquered most embroidery techniques will welcome this introduction to the delights of Lagartera, while the novice embroiderer will find small projects on which to test their newly discovered skills.Table of Contents
