We are excited to announce three new titles for release in January 2017:

  • The official launch of Billy: My Life as a Teenage POW took place at Victoria Barracks on the 4th October 2016 and was officiated by His Excellency, General The Honourable David Hurley. 

    In attendance were family and friends of both Lynette and Billy as well as relatives of Billy's fellow POWs. 

    Attendees heard from His Excellency David Hurley, Ian Webster, Managing Director of Sally Milner Publishing, as well as authors Lynnette Silver and Billy Young. Billy recited some of his own poetry and told more of his time spend as a teenage POW. 

    After the official launch Lynette and Billy made time for a book signing and mingled with attendees. 

    Overall the launch was a great success and we thank everyone involved in ensuring the day went as smoothly as it did.

  • Billy: My Life as a Teenage POW by Billy Young and Lynette Silver is released this month. 

  • ABC Radio National Life Matters with Ellen Fanning - an interview with Billy Young and Lynette Silver. "The 15 year old soldier who became a POW". You can listen online, or download the audio to listen later.

  • Lynette Silver wrote this piece "The Melbourne Cup 1942 Sandakan POW Camp, Borneo" for the Far East Strategic Reserve Navy Association Australia (Inc.) Queensland Branch Newsletter. It is adapted from Billy: My Life as a Teenage POW.
